WEEKEND QUOTE #9, QUOTE FROM THE THRONE OF FIRE BY RICK RIORDAN

“The sign was spray-painted in Arabic and English, probably from

some attempt by the farmer to sell his wares in the market.

The English read: Dates-best price. Cold Bebsi. “Bebsi?” I

asked. “Pepsi,” Walt said. “I read about it on the Internet.

There’s no ‘p’ in Arabic. Everyone here calls the soda Bebsi.”

“So you have to have Bebsi with your bizza?” “Brobably.”

Taken from The Throne of Fire by Rick Riordan. This quote is a conversation between Sadie and Walt.

Nothing about this sentence but it could make me laughed. Until I realized that I did not know there is no ‘p’ in Arabic before. Whereas, I have known Arabic alphabet since I was 6 years old very well. I thought Arabic is the most completely alphabet because it has more than two symbols for some letters. It is still difficult for me to spell them with the right pronunciation.

OK, this is my chosen quote for this week.  What’s yours? See the rules on Half-Filled Attic ya. Have a nice weekend  ♪(´ε` )

  1. Haha, each alphabet is unique. The Greek doesn’t have c, though they have 2 ‘e’s and two ‘o’s. The Japanese alphabet doesn’t have ‘l’, although some of them sometimes spell ‘r’ pretty close to ‘l’. That’s why learning languages for me is interesting and challenging at the same time.

    1. Quote-nya dikasih kotak pakai tag div-nya html. div-nya dikasih style ky gini

      <div style="text-align:center;box-shadow:10px 10px 5px #888888;padding:5px;background-color:#d2ece8;font-family:'Monotype Corsiva';font-size:13pt;color:#4f998d;">Type your text here</div>

style yg ngasih warna ada di background color-nya. Warnanya bisa dikasih nama warna umum seperti ‘red’, ‘blue’ dll. Tp umumnya pakai kode warna heksa ^_^
